So as Alissa reads all the new ones, I'm digging through the archives of YA lit. :)I just finished this book and I have to say, it surprised me. It really reminded me of the Chocolate War in its naked brutality. I kept thinking, she won't go there... but she did.
Wow.

I've been meaning to read this one for a while. Does anyone else here subscribe to the listserv Adbooks? Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming, but I find it worth it if for no other reason than one of the members periodically throughout the year rounds up all the starred reviews of YA books in 5 prominent journals, and breaks it down so you can see not only which books have been starred, but which ones have been given 2 stars, 3 stars, etc. (the 5 starred ones are usually Printz contenders) At any rate, Gail Giles subscribes to the list and Shattering Glass came up in discussion in a way that made me want to check it out...and then it got away from me.
