I was really impressed by this title. I'm not normally a book in verse fan, but I found this title gripping. Anke's struggles with her desire for attention that she does not receive from her abusive father is presented in a heart-wrenching and compelling narrative. It's not perfect- there were a few plot elements that were dropped without resolution, but it will definitely appeal to fans of Ellen Hopkins and Sonya Sones.

I agree. I almost skipped this one because it's in verse, but I really enjoyed it. It really captured the emotional landscape.

What I'd said was something along the lines of: yes, I agree! I was sucked into this in a way that I hadn't really expected I would be, since I don't usually care for the novel-in-verse thing. And yes on the dropped threads, but (weirdly) they didn't bother me much. I enjoyed it, but it seemed a little watered-down to me, after having read other books in similar veins (Identical, Living Dead Girl) recently.
